Do we meet you before you before you look after my dog?

Yes, we will arrange a mutually convenient time for you to meet me and of course, this lets me meet your pup too. We will discuss any bespoke requirements you may have and, the dogs specific commands and needs.

Do I need to be home when you collect/drop off my dog?

In short, no!  If you are happy sharing a set of your keys, I will come and walk your dog while you are not at home. All keys are kept locked away safely and with only the dogs name to distinguish them for added safety.

Will my dog be let off the lead?

With prior approval, and good recall, yes I would be very comfortable with taking your dog off the lead. I have an extensive knowledge with recall training and I have also completed my introduction to dog training. I can help work on your dogs recall if it needs a little bit of work too. This will all be discussed in your consultation.

What happens in bad weather?

If there is really extreme weather conditions that mean a dogs walk needs to be cancelled, I will give you as much notice as possible. As an alternative service, I can replace the otherwise cancelled walk with home visits and provide lots of playtime for your dog.

What happens in extreme heat?

Where possible, when it's hotter I will adapt walks to more suitable locations and stay in the shade. For your pets safety in extreme heat I would recommend carrying out a home visit.

What do you do in the case of an emergency?

In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will call and notify you immediately. Should veterinary assistance be required I will take your pet to your named vet, or depending on circumstances, the nearest one.

Are you insured?

Yes Running Paws is fully insured, please do ask to see our insurance certificate.

What if I need to cancel?

Please contact Running Paws with at least 48 Hours notice for no charges to apply.

How many dogs do you walk at one time?

I will walk up to 4-5 dogs in a group, ensuring they are matched by temperament and size. I am however insured for 6 dogs.

 

Where do you operate?

I am based in Allbrook near Eastleigh and have good links to be able to dog walk in Eastleigh, Allbrook, Chandlers Ford and Chilworth. I have a lovely van which is fully equipped with cages to take your dog to interesting places to make it more enjoyable.
